Spring???

I keep waiting and waiting, but Spring is not coming. It's been really cold until recently, and this weekend we had a blizzard. We had wind like you wouldn't believe. It was warmer than it has been, but the wind and blowing snow was so bad that it really made it miserable. It does not feel like spring at all. Joe was suppose to fly to Emo, a village on the coast, for a Math conference, but since it's so nasty outside, he decided to stay home.

Joe and I spent the weekend indoors. Friday after school, our friend Sandra came over and we played Rock Band until midnight. Saturday, we slept in, made blueberry pancakes, and eventually went up to Sandra's to watch TV. She recorded a movie on DVR, but we ended up watching Keeping up with the Kardashians. Damn you reality tv! Today I got up early with an urge to clean. It started with cleaning out the fridge, and that turned into cleaning the freezer and the pantry, organizing what food we have left, cleaning behind the fridge and in the drawers, and mopping the floor. I also did 3 loads of laundry and distilled 2 gallons of water. Why am I telling you all of these boring details??? Because my Auntie Di was whining that I hadn't posted in more than a week, and even though I have nothing new to write, I am writing this for her. :)

There are five weeks of school left, and Joe and I have bought our tickets to come home. We'll be leaving on Wednesday the 19th, and will fly all day. We'll get into Spokane at midnight. It will take us 4 planes to get home, but it will be worth it. Plus, the planes will be getting bigger each time...that's exciting. We have already decided that for our first meal, we want to go to Las Chevelas. Chips and salsa and margaritas--what could be better? Joe has also already decided on his first song to kareoke. He doesn't know when or where, but he has decided to start with "Rainbow Stew."

Now here's your homework...have a drink for us. See you soon!

  1. Hey wait a minute! WHINING? Remind me not to speak to your mother anymore. Actually I'm quite honored that you posted a blog just for me tho, I feel tingly all over...

And for the record, your blogs are never boring. Whether you're cleaning behind the fridg or picking your nose, it brightens my day and I love reading about it.

Uncle Dennis and I are doing some long-overdue spring cleaning ourselves -- we're ripping out our rotten redwood decking in anticipation of installing new decking soon... What a huge mess!!! So much trash! I had the urge to clean windows too, so got all of the front windows done. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain.

Well, I guess I'll go do my 'homework' now, a margarita sounds good...

    Love you guys!

  2. Hey, I just passed on a little information and I catch flack for it. They always blame the messenger!

And where did all this happy homemaker/cleaning frenzy come from? I remember what your bedroom always looked like. I hope you're still in this cleaning mode when you get home cuz' I have a bunch of closets that could use some work.

I can't wait until you get home, tho I don't think Las Chevelas is open at midnight. Looking forward to Kareoke (sp?) "we'll all be drinkin that free bubble up and eatin that rainbow stew. . .
    Love, Mom

  3. Rainbow Stew.. I knew I liked you for a reason Joe.. You have exceptional taste in music.. and women. :) (that one's for you Janna!) We have had snow, rain and extreme winds down this way too. I literally watched my BBQ blow across the back porch last week. I miss you guys so much and hope all your flights home are safe and without delay! As for my homework? Yes I will complete it in a timely manner and will complete some extra credit as well! Love you!
